Well #Mastodon I’ve been thinking about this and I have been considering my types of #boosts. Which do you use most (you should be able to vote for more than one) and if you want to comment on why (or any other sporadic or entertaining thoughts) please do. #PleaseBoost (obv)

🚨PSA for #trans people: important information regarding applying for asylum in Canada - there is a ton of misinformation flying around. Please watch this first before making any applications. #Canada #asylum #boosts appreciated, thanks.

Does anyone here have experience with the #azure cognitive services #api in the browser client? I'm getting an unexplainable #websocket error 1006 that's only happening to my user in certain circumstances, and the reason is `undefined`

I'm confident it's not a bad key, because the same code and deployment works for another user.

#boosts welcome, #help please! This is for a #FOSS accessibility project.

Currently, can you see #boosts on your #Pixelfed timeline?
On Pixelfed.social and other instances it seems like boosts are hidden. So you can share posts in Pixelfed and users using softwares like Mastodon or Misskey will see your boost, but from Pixelfed you won’t see them both from Pixelfed users and Fediverse users, and regardless if you activated them in the settings or use a different client. There are no official news about it so I’m trying to understand if this has something to do with Pixelfed as a software, with specific instances or specific accounts

I've opened up pre-orders for Issue 07 of BLAG (Better Letters Magazine): shop.bl.ag.

The aim is to fund a few extra things that I want to include in the issue: bl.ag/07.

#Boosts are appreciated; thank you for supporting my independent, advertising-free publication.

PS. Even better than pre-ordering is joining BLAG with the fediverse special offer and getting Issue 06 right away, followed by Issues 07 and 08: bl.ag/md20.

Is there a way in (Glitch-flavoured) Mastodon to hide all boosts from my timeline?

I do follow a few people whose boosts are actually interesting (and not overdone), but the vast majority of boosts are just spam clogging my timeline, and I'm getting tired of hiding boosts from one user at a time.

(Also, fellow fedizens, please stop overboosting. A boost is not a "like.")

Context Boosts, wow. Excellent design idea. It really reflects the classical Mastodon approach of 1. Reply; 2. Boost the original post; 3. Boost your reply. I stick to this approach religiously, but elegant it ain't. Your Context Boost bundles these three steps into one. As you say, it preserves the continued involvement of the original poster, which twitter-style QTs don't. Excellent.

EDITED

Suppose A follows X and Y, while B only follows X but not Y.

Suppose Y posts toot T, and X posts two replies to T, R1 with visibility set to "unlisted", R2 with visibility set to "public".

Then A's timeline shows T and R2, and B's timeline shows none of these.

A's timeline ALSO shows R1: I don't know why?

John Mastodon's advice remains right: boost your own replies for sharing: if X boosts R1 and R2, both show in the timelines of A and B.

I noticed my recent posts say "1 boost" but when I look to see who boosted them, it says there's no boosts. 🤔 I never got a notification for them. What could be causing that?

(Will it happen to this post?)

edit: well no boost on this one yet... it looks like it's my #Ideon posts. I use a bunch of hashtags on those, maybe one is getting picked up by a bot?
