10.9.5. upgraders

If you have an issue with a locked database and media scanning failing, Set Dashboard -> General -> Performance -> Set "Parallel library scan tasks limit" and "Parallel image encoding limit" both to 1

That worked for me.

This Github thread also has a dev request for a Docker tester for a fix:

GitHub[Issue]: Failure to refresh libraries after update. Readonly database. · Issue #11980 · jellyfin/jellyfinBy thoja21

Many thanks. Glad I’ve been lazy about upgrading.

They are already working on the next release. You might want to hang where you are at for a bit if it is working correctly. 😉

It's been a wild month, let me tell you. Feels like riding a bull and not getting thrown off... 🐂
...Hoping each bug fix release doesn't bring more bugs🐂

Credit to the devs for trying to keep up, though.

I'm testing it on a "live" backup install with a limited library right now and so far, so good. We'll see how it does before I put it on my main machine. 🤭

I have a setup with a small library that I take with me on the go. If it gets messed up, No biggie to burn it and set it up again, esp since some of the other 10.9.* bugs included deleting media files.

Yeah this one got me. I made the change on one instance for music that was idle and seemed to work. Other instance with video has active watching and it still giving the error, so may need a restart or something.

Sucks having these kind of bugs but 10.9 was also supposed to be a lot of changes to the code and their processes of doing stuff to make it better in the future. I guess it's just been a lot of moving parts and some aren't working that well currently.

Looks like there is a fix that has been tested by at least one person, basically to just limit it to one write at a time.
