Trying to browse the #MastoAdmin hashtag because there was a new upgrade to see if anyone is having any issue with the upgrade or if it broke anything. Can't because everyone is using it to announce they upgraded. We need a new update tag, something like #mastoupdate for that
This is something various people have proposed in the past, esp a few months ago when there were several upgrades in a row after one upgrade broke systems.
It's hard to find out if admins are having problems with useless blabber. It's almost as bad as people who use the tag to talk to their end users.
@paul
Agreed.
But, FWIW, I just did the upgrade in my test environment, and it went very smoothly. There is no requirement to recompile, so pretty quick and easy. I'll be upgrading my server this evening.
@Jerry Thanks. I like the simple upgrades like this.
@paul An alternate solution would be for you to start using #MastoAdminSupport or #MastoTechSupport to ask technical issues with Mastodon instances, and promote others use that hashtag to discuss these problems.
#MastoAdmin is a general tag for Mastodon administrators to communicate.
@paul
Totally agree, the update spam is just renders it pretty pointless.
I consider those posts as completely unnecessary
